Part of our recent achievements and growth has been mainly due to the people. So, we’re excited to feature another hard-working team member in our Employee Spotlight of the month.
Meet Brenno Pellegrini, our Product Designer and the first one to join the Design Team. Born and raised in Trento, a small city lost between the mountains in northern Italy, Brenno studied chemistry during high school at ITT, also in Trento.
However, he loathed it and changed his career direction afterward, thus enrolling at the Palladio design institute in Verona. Then, after that, he found Wonderflow.
Brenno’s hobbies and interests include remodeling old furniture, especially road bikes. It’s no wonder that he is now a designer with his passion for fixing and bringing objects to life.
The team started with only him and Mike, our current Head of Design & Marketing. So, we can say we’re glad to learn a little bit more about Brenno. Read on to find out!
1. Please describe a bit about your role, team, and how it all affects our customers and the industry?
I’m a Product Designer, which means that my main task is to shape the product to become properly functional and solve the problems of our users. So that’s what we do for our customers/users: start with a problem defined in a user story and find a solution for it.
In most cases, the solution to our users’ problem is related to our dashboard’s user interface. By having a better and less complicated interface, the perception of the user experience improves. Then, it’s easier to win new clients and maintain existing customers because if they have to choose, they will go for the better and the most usable product.
2. How would your family or friends describe you in three words?
Introverted, stubborn, ambitious
3. What was your first job?
My first job was as an apple picker during the summer when I was 14.
4. What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?
Move to another country and work from there.
5. If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Time
6. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I’ve eaten a lot of different things, so I don’t really know. But I remember that I drank coffee made from the beans of a monkey’s poop.
7. Who is your hero? Why?
My mother’s parents. They have worked since always, and they will continue to do so until they physically can’t anymore (one is 75 and the other is 79, and they work as farmers and handle a Bed & Breakfast).
They enjoyed life and never complained about anything. They were always friendly and correct to other people. They lived a full life enjoying the little things. Those are my heroes and the people I take as references.
8. What would the title of your autobiography be?
Vae victis 😛
9. If you didn’t have to work, what would you do with your time?
I would always work but probably only when I want to. The rest of the time, I would collect and fix vintage road bikes, spend them with the people I like, and volunteer at the dog shelter.
10. If you could give your past self advice, what would it be?
Learn how to learn faster and find strategies to waste as little time as possible for things you don’t like.
And always be diplomatic, especially with people that you don’t like. Fights are always counterproductive.
